Spencer Martin Gregg Jr.

Spencer Martin Gregg, Jr., 75, of Goose Creek, died January 15, 2015. Born in Elloree, SC he was the son of the late Spencer and Myrtle Dantzler Gregg and husband to Mary S. Gregg. Spencer graduated from North Charleston High School. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant and also worked as an Insurance Agent for Southland Life and Life of Georgia. Spencer enjoyed skeet and trap shooting but he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Goose Creek Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post #66. He is survived by his wife of twenty two years, Mary S. Gregg; daughters, Susan Hayslip and husband Steve of Goose Creek, Ginger Bowles and husband Michael of Summerville and Julie Tuten and husband Jamie of Summerville; step children, Daniel Parish and wife Angela of Goose Creek, David Parish and wife Candi of Summerville and Mary Fitzwater and husband Danny of Ladson; sisters, Helen Shirley and Elizabeth Brandhorst, both of Summerville; brother, David Gregg of James Island. Spencer is also survived by eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Bonnie B. Gregg; sisters, Gertrude Colson, Mildred Myers; brothers, M.J. Smith and William “Bubba” Smith. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The family will receive friends prior to service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
