Thomas Joseph McDonald

Thomas Joseph McDonald, 54, of Blythewood, SC, entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2021 at Agape Community Hospice House in Columbia, SC.

Born on November 4, 1966, in Charleston, SC; Thomas was a son of the late John A McDonald, Sr. and Carolyn Dodds McDonald.

Thomas, spent much of his life in a group home for disabled men. He considered these men family and took pride in caring for a blind friend, who he was especially close to. He enjoyed working at a recycling center breaking down boxes and doing general maintenance. In his free time, he enjoyed watching TV and sketching. He was beloved by his family, staff, and fellow
residents of his group home.

Thomas is survived by his sisters: Peggy McDonald Riser (Bob) Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Kathleen McDonald Fryml (Jady) Charleston, SC. He also is survived by nine nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his bother John A. McDonald, Jr. (Colleen).

Tommy, we send you off with Romans 14:8- "If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." We love you, forever…

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Drive, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.

The burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thomas`s memory may be sent to Campus Ministry at Bishop England High School, 363 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island, SC 39492.
