William H. Hall, of Summerville, SC, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 26, 2019.
“Uncle Bill” - or “UB,” as his family fondly called him - was born May 9, 1950 in Syracuse, New York. He went to high school in Skaneateles, New York and loved being a Laker. After high school he attended the University of Rochester, graduating with a degree in Engineering. He went on to have a 30-year career as a Mechanical Engineer with the Ford Motor Company.
He was greatly loved by his family, and extremely generous with his time. An avid Michigan sports fan, he tried to make each of his niece’s or nephew’s sporting events. He loved to play golf and fish with his family, and he never missed a birthday or anniversary. With his beloved beagle, Henry, who never left his side, he was an honorable and devoted family man.
He was predeceased by his parents William H. Hall and Alice, and brother James. He is survived by his sister Margaret Armitage and her husband Barry of Summerville, SC; nephew Ben Armitage, his wife Jill and their children Will and Kiera of Awendaw, SC; niece Rebecca Strutt, her husband Warren of Burlington, Ontario, and children Mikaelah and Nathan Ufema; nephew Jonathan Armitage, his wife Laura, and children Noah, Aletheia and Sarah of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; and nephew Joshua Armitage, wife Jessica Harris, and children Thomas and Evelyn Lea of Amesbury, MA.
“UB” will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is deeply missed by his family, he is with his heavenly father, and reunited with his parents and loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity and kindness that his family hopes to carry on.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 1, 2019, one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek.
