Adriana McIndoe of West Columbia passed away in her home on Sunday morning, August 16 at the age of 61 from complications of epilepsy. Adriana was born November 21, 1964 in Havana Cuba to parents Alberto Caridad Gonzalez-Acevedo Colina and Martha Lopez Flores. Adriana arrived with family in Miami Florida in 1970 and became later a naturalised citizen. Adriana graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in 1983 and later the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in 1987. She worked as a Spanish teacher in various capacities over the years.
Adriana was well known to friends and family for her unique and indomitable personality. Adriana did not have children of her own but she was a devoted and loving mother to several feline children over the years.
She was an avid fan of BTS. She was also a kidney transplant recipient of her ex husband Raymond E. McIndoe and a fervent supporter of the PKD foundation.
Adriana is preceded in death by her father, numerous aunts and uncles, and grandmother Rosalia Flores Perez. Adriana is survived by her mother, brother Albert Gonzalez-Acevedo, niece Camille Thoma, nephew Gabriel Gonzalez-Acevedo, cousins Felix Constables and Grecia Ramirez, sister in law Pamela Gogo Youmans, and beloved cats Fiona and Sassy.
A memorial service will be held at the McAlister-Smith Funeral home in the near future.
