Albert Reese Chandler III, 80, of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Born on October 1, 1945, in Florence, SC, Albert was the son of the late Lois Shaw Chandler and the late Albert Reese Chandler, Jr.

Al went to St. Andrew's Parish High School. He worked for GE as an appliance service technician. He liked to grow a vegetable garden every year. Al and his wife took in a lot of stray cats that people would abandon on Johns Island.

In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kannianen Chandler.

Albert is survived by his stepson, Joseph Kannianen (Kimberly), stepdaughter Katherine Marie Miller; siblings: David Chandler (Dora) of Summerville, SC; Donald Chandler (Cheryl) of Sierra Vista, AZ; Gail Scaffe (Ronnie) of Charleston, SC; Jane Whitney (Conrad) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Barbara Chandler of Charleston, SC and Sally Johnson (Bill) of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412
