Albert Edward Wright

September 8, 1938 — May 1, 2021

Albert Edward "Teddy" Wright, 82, of Summerville, husband to Betty M Wright (Brisson) of 62 years, entered into eternal rest on May 01, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on September 08, 1938 in Sudbury, Ontario Canada, Ted was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Wright.

Ted left his home in Sudbury to become a pro hockey player as a teenager and played with several NHL hall of famers over the course of his career. He eventually landed in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where he played many years for the Ft. Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League, before retiring and raising a family in Ft. Wayne. Endearing himself to fans as the ultimate "tough guy", Ted was one of the most popular players in Ft. Wayne history, eventually being named to the Komets Hall Of Fame in 2002. After his hockey days were over, Ted worked in management for International Harvester and Goldshield Fiberglass.

In addition to his wife Betty, Ted is survived by his daughter Tracy and sons, Mark and Kevin, grandchildren Alex, Hillary, Katie, Erich, Erin and Ryan and great grandchildren, Emilce, Oliver, Addison, William, Elliot and Emory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ted's memory may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation at kidney.org .
