Andrew "Andy" Boylan Stoehr

Andrew Boylan Stoehr, 71, of Charleston, SC, died on August 14 from COPD.

Andy was raised in Manhasset, NY, and graduated from Manhasset High School where he made friends for life. After earning a B.S. in Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology, he held managerial positions in hotels and hospitals.

Andy’s athletic abilities showed themselves at a very early age in baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf, basically any sport he tried, but his passion was baseball. A picture of Babe Ruth greeted you in his kitchen. He was an avid Mets fan who knew sports teams, players and statistics like no one else.

Andy was well-read, smart, and had an incredible sense of humor accompanied by a great laugh. He was a wonderful brother and friend and will always be remembered for his kindness, empathy, and wit.

Andy is survived by five siblings: Sandra Stoehr Gillette of Langhorne, PA; Bruce Stoehr (Nancy) of Charleston, SC; Chris Stoehr (Barbara) of Locust Valley, NY; Laurie Barnoski (Barney) of Olympia, WA; and Liz Gallagher (Jim) of Raleigh, NC. He leaves behind five nephews: Brian Stoehr (Cara), Chris Stoehr (Kari), Chris (JR) Stoehr (Marlene), Max Gallagher (Hsi), Jake Gallagher (Raisa), and five great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rosemary and Edward Stoehr, and his nephew, John Stoehr.

A private burial will be held in the fall.
