Barbara Anne Bibbiani

January 8, 1945 — April 5, 2022

Our beloved and irreplaceable Barbara Anne Bibbiani, also known as Bobbie or Barb, passed unexpectedly on April 5, 2022 in Charleston, SC. As she was never at a loss for words, the stakes are high for a fitting obituary.

Born on January 8, 1945 and raised in Chester, CT, she was the eldest of eight and grew to become the true matriarch of her family. A stunning, natural beauty known for her impeccable style, flawless penmanship and grammar, and overflowing social exuberance, Barbara always showed up for those she loved on their biggest days or smallest moments.

She thrived in her career as an Executive Assistant, where her intellect, organizational skills, and superior work ethic contributed to the success of each business or industry in which she worked.

Her greatest wish came true when she became a Mother, and she relished and triumphed in that role over all others. A single Mom to an only child, she lived and breathed selflessness and devotion. She sacrificed and afforded her daughter all the opportunities and experiences the world could offer. Also, she often took people under her wing, challenged them to be their best, and cared for them as if they were family.

Barbara's cooking was a delectable and genuine expression of her love. Best known for her baked stuffed shells, turkey stuffing, and annual holiday cookie assortment, she whipped up a special meal or dessert to recognize any occasion.

She cherished a "shorty" chair in the ocean, her sweet Shih Tzu, Cali, and recanting a detailed account of ... well, just about anything! She had a passion for ice cream, hot cups of tea, and all things dipped in chocolate.

Barbara leaves behind a host of treasured family and friends from everywhere she visited or lived. She was the daughter of the late Trent Bibbiani and Jacqueline Carini, and the step-daughter of Judy Bibbiani. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Cara Bibbiani and son-in-law Michael Martin of Charleston, SC. She will be greatly missed by her sisters and brothers, Sandra Brown, Peter Carini, Richard Bibbiani, Robert Bibbiani, Paula Inglis and Jane Bibbiani. She is predeceased by her sister, Patricia Hansen. In addition, she leaves her many nieces and nephews who will always remember their wonderful and loving "Auntie Bobbie."

Services and a Celebration of Life in CT will be announced at a later date. For those sending cards to the family, please be sure to continue Barb's tradition of adding plentiful glitter and confetti in remembrance of her.
