Barbara "Bobbie" Baggott Dunn

Barbara "Bobbie" Baggott Dunn, 90 of Summerville, SC, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. 

Born on February 11, 1933, in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ella Lee McGrath Baggott and Theadore Doctor Baggott. 

Bobbie left school at the early age of 16 to take care of her sick parents. She met the love of her life, Johnny, when she was 18 years old, and they married three months later. Bobbie was devoted to serving her church and was the oldest card-carrying Rev. David J. Schiller Columbiette #11910 at St. Theresa of The Little Flower Catholic Church. She owned a ceramic shop in Charleston, SC and co-owned a real estate company in Wisconsin. Decorating was one of her many passions. She loved to design gardens, painting and also played the piano. She adored children, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, including her nieces and nephews. Her family will remember Bobbie as a strong influence in their lives.

Besides her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John Dunn; son, Kevin Dunn and six siblings.

Bobbie is survived by her children: Barbara Dunn Grant, James Patrick Dunn (Jeanne), Helen Dunn Melton (Gary); 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Theresa The Little Flower Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Inurnment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Bottles for Mother's" c/o St. Theresa of the Little Flower Church, 1101 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
