Barry Barlow
Davall
May 10, 1942 — Jul 2, 2026
Mount Pleasant, SC
Barry Barlow Davall, 84, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Barry built a distinguished 50-year career in banking that included serving as President & CEO of New Jersey National Bank, President and COO of Shawmut Fidelity Bank, founding President and CEO of Tinton Falls State Bank, Chairman and CEO of Two River Community Bank and President and CEO of Community Partners Bancorp, before retiring in 2009. He was a member and past president of the Community Bankers Association of New Jersey, and a trustee of the New Jersey Bankers Association. He was, by all accounts, a brilliant banker.
His most momentous career move came as a young manager at Hightstown Trust, when he hired a young woman who lived across the street from the bank, Sandra Palsho. Sandy was the love of his life and became his wife of 63 years. Barry and Sandy raised their two children, Karin and Jeffrey, in New Jersey and Connecticut. He instilled in his children the importance of both a strong work ethic and family – making wonderful beach vacations together a priority and passing his love of the ocean on to the next generation. Barry was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren. He reveled in their stories and loved learning about their latest endeavors, be it travel, lacrosse, baseball, hockey or dance. He also never missed an opportunity to try to pass along his lifelong passion for the Mets.
A self-made man, Barry did not take his good fortune for granted and believed it was his duty to give back. He served as Chairman and a director of the Red Bank Community YMCA. He was treasurer and trustee of Monmouth Conservation Foundation, director and treasurer of the Friends of the Monmouth County Parks, and secretary and trustee of CPC Behavioral Healthcare. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.”
Barry was born on May 10, 1942, in Princeton, NJ, the second son of Grace (Barlow) Davall and Harold Davall. He attended Rider University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He always appreciated the simple pleasures of his childhood in Kingston, NJ, running home from school to play baseball in a nearby field and joining his grandfather for ice cream.
Barry was the epitome of a good man. A man of great integrity, of quiet strength and grace, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, brother C. William Davall (Barbara) of Hilton Head, SC, daughter Karin Warner (Timothy) of Palm Coast, FL, son Jeffrey (Susan) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and grandchildren Katherine, Jack, Henry, Ava, Faye and Ben, as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
