Benedict Alfred Salamone

Benedict A. Salamone of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on December 30, 2022. Born in Newark, New Jersey on October 20, 1938, son of Louis and Josephina Salamone. He is survived by his wife, of 30 years Sharon and his four children, Michael, Thomas, Catherine, Michelle, and eight grandchildren.

He attended Bloomfield high school, New Jersey, where he received a basketball scholarship to Niagara University, receiving a BA and Masters degrees. 
He was a teacher for 41 years at the Bloomfield New Jersey educational system.
Bud was a huge fan of the Cubs highlighted by attending the World Series. Golf, tennis and gardening were the joys of his life.

Bud devoted the last 20 years of his life honoring his son John who died on 9/11 in NYC. Through the foundation created, multiple endowments and scholarships were awarded to multiple colleges and universities.

As a service man in the US Army, he will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery sometime in 2023.
