Brenda Driggers Gunter

A visitation to celebrate the life of Brenda Driggers Gunter, 79, of West Columbia, will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home (200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169). Brenda passed away at Lexington Medical Center on June 8, 2025. She was born on October 5, 1945, in Lexington, to James Walter Driggers and Vera Hutto Driggers.

Brenda was a loving care giver. She dedicated her life to caring for her father, brother and others when they were sick and helping raise her grandkids. Brenda poured her heart into writing several unpublished children's books for her grandkids. She also wrote an unpublished book, Donnie Living with MS, a book dedicated to her late brothers courageous fight with MS and cancer.

Brenda was married to John Gunter until his death in 1980. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and reading her Bible but most of all spending time with her family.

Brenda is survived by her sons, James Gunter (BJ) and Rick Gunter (Sherrie); her daughter, Susan Love; and her brother, Rodney Driggers (Beckie). She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Hailey Gibson (Clarence), Morgan Norris (Xander) and Brandon Gunter; and ten great-grandchildren, Tristin, Kaeleigh, Kiyah, Kiara, Carson, Kamdon and Tymir Gibson; and Matthew, Brantley and unborn great-granddaughter Norris. Brenda was predeceaded by her brother, Donnie Driggers (Judy); her sister, Shirley Kyzer (Dickie); and son in law, Mark Love. She will forever be remebered by the love she showed to those around her.
