Brittany LaShay Gadsden

Brittany LaShay Gadsden, born on July 19, 1995, in Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. She was the proud daughter of Henry Gadsden, Jr. and Kecia Bradley-Gadsden. A deeply thoughtful soul, Brittany was known for her quiet strength, sensitivity, and a love that gives without asking.

From an early age, Brittany discovered her passion for dance. Dance captured Brittany’s heart early, and for many years, it was where she felt most at home. She attended Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary and later Charleston County School of the Arts, where she majored in dance. Her talent and dedication led her to excel and compete in the art form that she so deeply loved.

Her educational journey was marked by both discipline and curiosity. Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Health Informatics. She had a passion for STEM, which she used to make a difference in the field of healthcare. Over the course of five years at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Brittany contributed to meaningful research and worked as a EPIC Data Analyst for the last two years of her career. Her work was thoughtful, precise and respected by her peers.

An avid reader, Brittany especially loved fantasy and dark romance novels. Though an introvert by nature, she spoke with clarity and confidence, always expressing herself with heartfelt sincerity.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brittany was spiritually grounded and found peace in her love of crystals and energy healing. She was also a passionate gamer who found joy, adventure and community in the world of video games. A world where her imagination could soar.

Brittany would want to be remembered for the way she lived, with intention, with love, and with deep thought. She believed in doing good for the sake of doing good and that we all will benefit from all the good we do now in the next life.

Brittany is survived by her parents, Henry Gadsden Jr. and Kecia Bradley-Gadsden; sisters, Shelkecia and Briana; godmother, Deidra Fraiser and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brittany’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley.
