Carol Elizabeth Hartsook

Carol Elizabeth Hartsook, 84, of Hollywood, South Carolina, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Born on July 24, 1941, in Columbia, SC, Carol was the daughter of the late Isobel Sineath Fowke and the late Harold Fowke.

Carol loved life. There was never a stranger she met or a room that didn’t fill up from her contagious laughter. Carol gave any task she was given her devoted best, and sometimes it would even involve some mischievous shenanigans to reach her vision of excellence, all the while giggling and saying, “This is really going to be great! Do you think it’s going to be big enough?” She also volunteered her time with “Super Bus”, spreading the word of GOD to children and their families. Carol’s love for her family was as unconditional as her unwavering faith in the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Griffith and her son, Mark Edward Hughes.

Carol is survived by her husband, Robert Hartsook; daughters, Sherrie Hughes and Michele Hartsook; and grandsons: Aaron Smith, Jonathon Drescher and Jason Drescher.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley, with the service immediately after.
