Carol Lee Miller, born on February 22, 1938, in Uniontown, PA, gracefully passed away in the comfort of her home on December 6, 2025. With a remarkable nursing career that spanned over 45 years, Carol dedicated her life to caring for others, from delivering the joy of new life in obstetrics to offering compassion at the final bedsides in geriatrics. Her journey began after graduating from the Uniontown School of Nursing in 1957.

Carol's professional path led her to Orange County, CA, where, through her relentless work ethic, she helped establish the first home health agency in Los Angeles, working through the highs and lows of day and night shifts. After relocating back to Pennsylvania, she continued in home health, always balancing family and nursing. In true Carol fashion, she embraced another venture by opening a diner for a couple of years, sharing her glorious cooking with anyone who walked through the door.

Throughout her life, Carol created cherished memories, with Christmas Eve parties and Thanksgiving dinners that were a testament to her love and unwavering faithfulness to family and friends. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome, always ensuring that a visit to her house meant a warm meal and a comforting atmosphere. Carol had an incredibly quick wit and was never without a little sass and a lot of love. She was courageous, strong, and immediate in her response to help. She was an eager listener, knowing when to be quiet and when to say that one word that you needed to hear.

Carol was a fabulous cook, decorator, and gardener. She loved creating outdoor spaces that were filled with flowers and birds. The house was always fresh and clean and exploding with warmth and comfort. She was well-read, intellectual, and loved learning. Her collection of recipes and cookbooks were one of her most beloved treasures  She loved clothes, shoes, and jammies; perfume, lotion and clean sheets. She was a classy romantic that loved living life in the beautiful places like the garden, the dinner table, the tub and the dance floor.

Locally adored and fiercely proud of her family, Carol spent the last two decades of her life lovingly cared for by her daughter Lesley and granddaughter Erin, who created a home filled with love and familiarity. Carol’s strong faith as a quiet and devoted follower of Christ brought her immense peace, especially in the knowledge that her daughters loved Jesus passionately.

Carol is survived by her three cherished daughters: Melinda McElveen (Gary), Beth Caudill (Derek), and Lesley Fanning; eight grandchildren: Jason Guzik, Stephanie Snider (Zebulon), Madalyn Morgan (Tony), Sullivan Hofstetter (Reed), Kayla Link (Jarrett), Chelsy Mitchell (Rhett), Jacob Caudill, and Erin Fanning; and four great granddaughters: Zoe, Finnley, and Gwyneth Snider, and Ruby Mitchell. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Jayne Clark (Robert), and one niece and two nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lyrene Miller, and brother, Glen Miller, Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever inspire those who had the honor to know her.
