Carrie Mae Jeffcoat

Carrie Mae Jeffcoat, 88, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. 

Born on October 11, 1936 in Orangeburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Nina Berry Brunson and Bragg Brunson.

Carrie was a devoted housewife who took great pride in being a mother. She spent a brief time working at the Charleston Shipyard, but her true joy was found at home. She loved Hallmark movies and cherished Christmas. Most importantly, Carrie's greatest love was her family, who meant the world to her.

Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Jeffcoat, Jr.; son, Robert J. Jeffcoat, III; and brother, Bragg Beverly Brunson. 

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Carrie Yvonne Downing (Joe); grandchildren: Aaron Downing and Toni Bartel (Chris); great-grandchildren: Andrew Harper, and Oliver Bartel; her daughter, Cindy Bishop (Tommy); and her sister, Janice Cardell.

The family will post information concerning services held in Jacksonville Beach, Florida as soon as arrangements are finalized.
