Catherine Hoots Levan

Catherine Hoots Levan, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Born on February 8, 1935, in Buck Shoals, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ida Farrington Hoots and James Hoots.

Catherine cherished time with family and friends, attending church, and reading her bible.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Wade Levan; her parents, James and Ida Hoots; her brothers, Bob Hoots and Charles Hoots; and sisters, Betty Wooten, Clara Nalls, and Patricia Hoots.

Catherine is survived by her children, Bill (Jill) White and Carla Sparks; step-son, Mike Levan; grandchildren, Jenna (Chuck) Astin, Valerie (Mike) Earman, Matthew (Kamari) White, Jay Sparks, and Eve Sparks; great-grandchildren, Brody Astin, Gage Astin, Nelson Sparks, Raelynn White, Kinlee White, Heidi Earman, Everett Sparks, Camille Earman and Caden White; step great grandchild, Charlotte Astin; step great-great grandchild, Cash Astin; and surviving sisters, Sarah (Don) Wood and Carolyn (Clay) Wooten and numerous nieces and nephews.

The service and burial will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Union Grove United Methodist Church, 1331 Sloans Mill Rd, Union Grove, NC 28689. Following the service, the family invites friends and relatives to join them for a reception in the church fellowship hall.
