Charles Lawson Carter, Jr., a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 12, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Charles dedicated his life to his passions and making the world a more beautiful place. As a dedicated landscaper for 17 years, he had an artistic eye for transforming spaces into breathtaking gardens. His attention to detail and creativity brought joy to countless individuals who would stroll through the landscapes he meticulously designed.
When Charles wasn't working outdoors, you could often find him tinkering on motorcycles in his garage. He had a deep love for mechanics and enjoyed the challenge of restoring vintage bikes to their former glory. His garage became a haven for friends and neighbors seeking advice or simply looking to share in his passion.
However, above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family – especially his daughter. He was an incredibly loving father who instilled in her the values he held dear: hard work, empathy, and compassion. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared countless memorable moments that will forever be treasured.
Kindness seemed to radiate from Charles wherever he went. His warm smile and genuine interest in others made him a friend to many. He had an innate ability to make people feel seen and heard, leaving lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Charles is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry A. Brown; his grandmother, Frances B. Carter; and grandfather, Coker Lawson Carter.
He is survived by his parents, Charles Carter and Sheryl Carter; his sister, Autumn Carter; his daughter, Kaylee Carter; his nephew, Blaize Murphy; his grandmother, Evelyn Brown and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
