Charles H. Raysor Jr., born May 24, 1947, passed away on March 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, adventure, and love. He truly lived life to the fullest and was never one to sit still when there was fun to be had or something that needed fixing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Raysor; beloved daughter, Samantha Raysor Gruber; his devoted son, Charles H. Raysor III; and daughter-in-law, Candace Raysor. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy.
Charles also leaves behind his three sisters: Susan Zych, Marty Brooks, and Debbie Sullivan, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Charles embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved skiing, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, golfing, dancing, bowling, and roller skating. If it involved being active, having fun, or bringing people together, he was all in. He was also known as a dedicated "backyard mechanic," always ready to tinker, fix, and lend a helping hand.
Later in life, Charles found great fulfillment in giving back to his community. He enjoyed helping at community picnics and collecting food for the food bank. He was always happy to support others and be part of something meaningful.
He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his generosity, and his ability to make those around him smile. Charles didn't just live life, he celebrated it, and he made sure others did too.
His memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with all who knew him.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island.
