Christopher Alan Hoffman, age 56, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully at home on November 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. For the past two years, Chris faced glioblastoma with remarkable courage and grace.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on December 26, 1968, to Wayne Edward Hoffman and Deborah Louise Ross Hoffman, Chris spent most of his life in North and South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1991 and married the love of his life, Lorri Linville, in 1995.

Chris will be remembered for his brilliant mind, generous spirit, and radiant smile. In his final years, his extraordinary bravery and determination inspired all who knew him. His signature phrase, "How can I help you?", reflected his lifelong commitment to serving others. He turned his passion for building and design into a thriving company, Southern Cottage, where his vision and artistry came to life. His work combined elegance and craftsmanship, and many homes around Lake Norman and the Charlotte area stand as lasting tributes to his creativity and dedication.

Above all, Chris was an amazing husband and a devoted father. He and Lorri created a family rooted in love, support, and closeness - a family that stood together through every joy and challenge. Chris poured his heart into guiding his children to live with purpose, make an impact, and leave the world better than they found it. His greatest joy was watching them grow into the people he always believed they could be.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Marjorie Ross of Akron, Ohio, and Homer and Nelle Hoffman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorri Hoffman; children, Lauren and Kyle Baker, Parker and Sarah Cate Hoffman, Hayden Hoffman, and Hugh Hoffman; and cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Hadley, Harper, and Sullivan. He is also survived by his mother, Deborah Whitman; father, Wayne Hoffman; brother, Jason Hoffman; and loyal family dogs, Ellie, Ranger, River, and Posy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at The Peninsula Club, 19101 Peninsula Club Dr, Cornelius, NC 28031.

In honor of Chris, a scholarship will be established at the University of South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support this scholarship.
