Clark Seabrook Schlechta Sr.

Clark Seabrook Schlechta Sr., 58, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Born on October 21, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Cecilia Schlechta and late Joseph Schlechta.

Clark had a deep love for the water and all the tasty creatures it held. Crabbing, shrimping, or just taking his John boat down every creek he could find, you could always find Clark outside. He loved sharks teeth and had a collection you would have to see to believe.

When Clark wasn't on the water he was messing with his garden. His tomatoes pampered like they were one of his children. He also liked peppers and could grow a mean flower.

Clark wanted his kids to be active, so he kept them that way. Baseball, soccer, riding bikes, swimming, or just throwing ninja stars at trees, he always found something to do. Clark was a very loving and interactive father.

Clark also had a love for music. Van Halen, Metallica, Kiss, Dio, if they rocked, he rocked out. He was always on the hunt for a good concert. He was also fond of cruises.

Clark had a dog Sprout, who he loved unconditionally. He kept Sprouts ashes and collar where he could see it every day. After Sprout passed all the neighborhood cats learned they had a buddy they could all trust.

Clark's heart was big enough to love the whole world. He was a friend to any and everyone. He would give the shirt off his back just to see a stranger smile. He will be deeply missed every day.

Clark is preceded in death by Joseph Schlechta (father) and Cecilia Schlechta (mother).

Clark is survived by his two children Clark Schlechta II and Sadie Schlechta; his former wife Angela Schlechta; brother Joseph Schlechta and Joseph's wife, Roxanne Schlechta.

The family will receive friends on May 17, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at McAlister's funeral home on James Island.
