Daniel Shelvy "Danny" Bandy Jr.

Daniel Shelvy Bandy, Jr., age 42, unexpectedly passed away on October 16, 2022. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, on June 6, 1980, Dan (“Danny” to his family)  grew up in Green Bay, graduating from Southwest High School in 1998. Forever a native son of Wisconsin, and in search of new opportunities and experiences, Dan headed west in December 2002, moving to Littleton, Colorado, and eventually settling in nearby Centennial. In 2008, Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in health care administration and management from Metropolitan State University.

Dan had worked in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry for nearly twenty years, most recently in account management at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Achieving corporate success with numerous advancing roles and titles, Dan was able to achieve that difficult balance of success and kindness, blending professionalism and charisma with grace and compassion.

In May 2016, after a five-year courtship, Dan married Kelly Winter at sunset along the rocky shores of Fort Zachary Taylor Beach in Key West, Florida. Bonded by their shared love of the ocean and island life, Dan and Kelly relocated to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, in 2017.

Dan was an avid sportsman. He was a devoted and faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers, the University of Michigan Wolverines, and the Liverpool F.C. soccer club. Not content to simply be an observer of sports, Dan actively played numerous recreational sports, including city league softball in Colorado. In keeping with his lifelong commitment to growth and new experiences, Dan became an avid golfer in recent years, developing a reputation as a fun and charming golfing companion.

In addition to his fierce competitive drive, Dan displayed a remarkable capacity for lifelong learning and knowledge. He was a voracious reader with an enormous array of literary interests, ranging from politics, foreign policy, and biographies, among others.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Kelly; his devoted mother, Lisa; his grandmother, Carol Jean; his sisters, Sabrina and Erika; brothers, Michael (Tanika) and Nathan; mother-in-law Jennifer; father-in-law, Bill; and brother-in-law, William, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Daniel Sr., his paternal grandparents Shelvy, Jr. and Carol Bandy; his Aunts Nancie and Connie; his sister-in-law, Jessica; and a very special dog, Lily.

Dan will be remembered as a kind soul and a good-person who was always quick to extend his hand to a friend and stranger alike. As Dan enters Eternal Rest, we know he is resting in the loving embrace of God the Father. The love his family and friends all felt for him will never perish.
