Daniel Max Kirkman, 65, of Ravenel, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Born on July 22, 1960, in Greensboro, NC, Daniel was the son of the late Juanita Kirkman and Max Kirkman.

Danny was a loving and devoted father to his three children, and nothing made him prouder than watching the people they became. He poured himself into their lives coaching each of them in soccer, showing up for every game he could, and always encouraging them to work hard, stay disciplined, and never give up. Being their dad was one of the roles he cherished most.

He was also a deeply loving husband. The life he shared with his wife was built on loyalty, laughter, and a quiet, steady kind of love that never wavered. Their bond was something truly special, and anyone who spent time with them could see how deeply he cared for her.

Danny was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and trusted Him wholeheartedly. His faith was the foundation of his life and shaped the way he loved his family, treated others, and faced life’s challenges with strength and humility.

Danny was a national powerlifting champion and carried a lifelong passion for strength and fitness. It was more than a sport for him. It reflected his determination, his discipline, and his belief in always pushing yourself to be better.

Outside the gym, he loved being outdoors. Hunting, fishing, gardening, and cycling were some of the things that brought him peace and joy. He also had a deep appreciation for firearms and the craftsmanship and history behind them.

Danny had a special love for animals and took great joy in surrounding himself with them. His home was always full of life, from his beloved German Shepherds to tortoises, ducks, and even a turkey. Each one part of the unique and spirited world he created around him.

And above all, he adored his six grandchildren. They brought him endless joy. Some of his happiest moments were spent simply kicking a soccer ball around with them, laughing, playing, and passing down the same love of the game he had shared with their parents.

Danny lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and a family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Kirkman.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn "Kim" Kirkman; sons, Christopher Kirkman (Megan) and Kyle Kirkman; daughter, Rachel Merck (Elliott); father, Max Kirkman; brother, Don Kirkman; grandchildren, Leighton, Everett, Atlas, Odin, Claire, and Blake.
