Dannie Joe Nicholson
He was born on August 6, 1939. Dannie, a retired Chief Petty Officer with the Navy from 1959 to 1979, served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service he continued his career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and Berkeley County Water and Sewer.
Dannie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Kelia (David), Scott (Dianne), and Derek (Lorena); his grandchildren, Josh Domingo (Melissa), Brittany Domingo, Brooke Nicholson Auch (Tucker), Kyle Nicholson, Lawrence Nicholson, Bayleigh Nicholson, Blaire Nicholson, and Blake Nicholson; and his great-grandchildren, Aiden Domingo, Noah Domingo, Lila Domingo, Sam Domingo, Findley Herschaft, Scottie Auch, and Quinn Auch. He is also survived by his sister and brother.
Dannie was preceded in death by his father, Joe; his mother, Sadie; his father-in-law, Howard Hutchins; his mother-in-law, Lucille Hutchins; and his brother, Hugh.
In his free time, Dannie enjoyed playing golf, doing yard work, and spending time with family. His dedication to his family, country, and community will always be remembered.
The burial will be held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd., Charleston, SC 29414 at 2:00pm on Friday, May 24, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
