David Scott "Scotty" Adams, 80, husband of Dorothy "Dot" Adams of Goose Creek, South Carolina entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Scott was born on October 2, 1942 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, son of the late Howard Richard Adams and Margaret Phelps Adams.
Scott was an avid golfer at the Redbank Golf Course where he was also a Ranger. He was an active member of the Fleet Reserve Association #269 in Goose Creek, enjoying time spent with his fellow servicemen. He loved family gatherings, shopping at the Navy Commissary and going to casinos.
In addition to his parents, Scott is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Wyland (Jerry) and sister, Mary and brother Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Adams, sister, Virginia "Ginger" King (Tony) of West Ashley, sons, David Adams, Bill Adams (Donna) and Brian Adams (Michelle) all of Goose Creek. His grandchildren, Scottie Adams (Rachel), Margaret Adams Fennimore (Sam), Dave Adams (Kim), Ryan Adams (Micah), Tyler Adams (Jordan), Lauren Adams Lind (Garrett) and Dylan Adams. His great-grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, Wyatt, Cole, Lexi, Cody, Adrenna (Nana), Cara, Hadley, Reagan, Logan and two more expected in February. He also has many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel located at 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445, from 9am until 10am when a prayer service will begin. After the prayer service there will be a Two Bell Service to honor Scott, a United States Navy Veteran of 25 years as a Chief Boiler Technician and a Navy Career Counselor (NCC). He became the first Navy Career Counselor, personally selected by a Navy Admiral. His last tour was in Charleston, SC as a Navy Recruiter, retiring in March of 1985.
Interment will be private.
