David James Speight, 69, of Goose Creek, husband to Ruth Speight (Haines) entered into eternal rest on July 19, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 15, 1951 in Charleston, SC, David was a son of the late Donald John Speight and Clara Mae Speight.
David, played high school baseball and for several Beer League Teams, Manager of several Shoe and Furniture Stores in the area. He served in the Navy serving during the Vietnam Era.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by a son: David James Speight Jr. a daughter: Catricia (Tricia) Speight, 3grandchildren, Austin, Andrew and Alayah and 2 great grandchildren. And brothers, Daniel J, Donald J, and Duane J Speight and one sister, Donna J Hutchinson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Chapel (Goose Creek).
