Diane B. MacIntyre, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 7th at 2:00 p.m. in Charleston, SC, surrounded by family. Diane was born with a joyful spirit, a generous heart, and a love for creativity that she carried throughout her life.
Diane is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Don and Liz Bauer of Mt. Pleasant; her beloved grandchildren, Lyndi Bauer of Mt. Pleasant, Loren Claycomb of New Braunfels, TX, Terri Farneti of Prescott, AZ, Beverly Moss of Steamboat Springs, CO, Bill Boardman III, and Paul & Alex Artigues of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Eshelman of Beverly Hills, FL, and her niece, Jayne Gould of New York, along with many other cherished relatives and friends who were an important part of her life. She is also remembered with love by her special friend, Ralph Shealy of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Diane is also remembered by George MacIntyre, to whom she remained legally married, and by his children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William B. Boardman, the father of her daughter Liz, with whom she shared over twenty years of a happy marriage, and whose memory she cherished throughout her life.
Diane lived a rich, full life marked by creativity, humor, and deep love for the people around her. She enjoyed painting, golf, playing games, going out to dinner, throwing and attending parties, and most of all, spending time with her family, whom she adored. She was known for bringing people together and making every gathering feel special.
Her presence brought color and warmth to every room, and she will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Diane’s life and share memories of her joyful spirit on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time with someone you love, do something creative, or enjoy a good meal in her honor - just as she would have wanted.
