Doris Benton Hiott, 92, of North Charleston, SC, passed away on July 14, 2021.
Born on March 1, 1929 in Charleston, Doris was a daughter of the late Eldon L. Benton and Neatha A.Groves Benton.
Doris was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. She was a member of Southern Methodist Church of Johns Island. Doris loved spending time with her family and enjoyed talking with friends at her dining room table. She will be remembered as a devoted servant to the Lord.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Windell Hiott and five brothers and sisters.
Doris is survived by her children: Judy Handy, Michael Hiott (Carol), Stephen Hiott (Kelly); nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and 7 brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley. Burial will follow the service at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
