Dorothy Kronemer, 64, of Daniel Island, SC, passed away on Monday, June 30, after a brief battle with cancer. In her final days, Dorothy reflected fondly on her many friendships and experiences, particularly those in Charleston and on Daniel Island, where she built a meaningful life in recent years. Dorothy believed in living a life full of purpose, passion, and mission.
Dorothy was born on June 23, 1961, in Charleroi, PA.
Dorothy enjoyed a remarkable 36-year career as a contract negotiator with IBM, traveling to more than 50 countries and living in cities such as Paris, Vienna, Tokyo, and Johannesburg. She was the IBM Senior International Contract Negotiator, securing billions of dollars in computing contracts, contributing to the creation of thousands of jobs worldwide. After IBM, she became a Benefit Auctioneer Specialist, raising millions of dollars for non-profits. She was also an active voice in local Republican politics and a dedicated member of her community.
Dorothy is survived by her uncle and aunt, Ronald and Patti Turnbull; her brother, Alex Kronemer, and sister-in-law, Lobna Ismail; her nephews, Sharif and Zakaria Kronemer; and her niece, Laila Kronemer. She is also survived by the love of her life, Tom Crawford, and her beloved cat, Madeline Ann.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Kronemer, whom she lovingly cared for and brought to Charleston, helping her mother fulfill many long-held dreams.
A graveside service will be held at Monongahela Cemetery, 800 Country Club Rd, Monongahela, PA 15063 on Saturday July 12th at 12 PM Noon. There will also be a celebration of her life held at a later date in Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Dorchester Paws (https://dorchesterpaws.org) - a cause she cared deeply about.
