Dorothy Palisi

Dorothy Palisi, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and devout member of Stella Maris Catholic Church, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was 91.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Joseph Palisi; daughters, Joanne (Dennis) McEniry, Katie (Jim) Rowan, and Liz (Rob) Kyle; sons, Gerry Palisi, Tom Palisi, and Dan (Brenda) Palisi; her fifteen grandchildren; and sisters, Peg Koerner and Eileen Bellantoni. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Josephine (O’Reilly) and Paul O’Brien; her beloved daughter, Barbara Napolitano; and sisters, Catherine Rotelli and Maureen Higgins.

A native of Port Chester, NY, Dorothy was valedictorian of her class at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Port Chester. She had a long career in banking while raising her large family with her husband. Her dedication to her family and faith was evident to all who knew her. She was especially beloved by her fellow members of the Journey of Faith group at Stella Maris.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. A Rosary Service will be held at 5:00pm.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28th, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC. The burial will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
