Douglas Lee Meloy

Douglas Lee Meloy, 55, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.

Born on September 20, 1970, in Ravenna, Ohio, Doug was the beloved son of Georgia Meloy Eckart and the late John Meloy. From an early age, Doug was known for his strong work ethic, sharp mind, and hands-on creativity-qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.

Doug was the proud and successful owner of Preferred Coating Solutions, a business that reflected his talent, determination, and ability to turn ideas into reality. There was very little he couldn't fix or design, and he took great pride in his work. Outside of business, Doug found peace and joy in fishing and hunting, embracing the outdoors and the quiet moments it offered.

Above all, Doug was a loyal and loving friend. He showed up for the people he cared about, offered help without hesitation, and formed deep, lasting bonds. His presence was steady, generous, and genuine, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Douglas was preceded in death by his father, John Meloy.

He is survived by his loving mother, Georgia Eckart, and stepfather, Robert Eckart; his person, Sarah Cameron; his cherished pets, Reich and Bookie; and many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

The family will have a gathering at a later date to be determined.
