Elizabeth Dianne McDaniel

Elizabeth Dianne McDaniel, 66, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born on December 2, 1947 in Andrews, SC to Don Thompson and Betty Bath Thompson of Charleston, SC. Dianne graduated from St. Andrew's High School and Jacksonville University. She was a member of Northbridge Baptist Church, was a member of the Charlestowne Garden Club, a member of the Does, an advisor for Job's Daughters, and a Demolay Mom. Dianne taught special children and was a kindergarten director before becoming a real estate agent and mortgage broker. She enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and best friend and soul mate to her husband. She is predeceased by her brother, Tony Thompson. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, William D. McDaniel of Charleston; one daughter, Denise Harris and her husband, David; one son, William Robert McDaniel and his wife, Carolyn; three grandchildren: Savannah Harris, Sam Harris and Wilmer Harris; her parents, Don and Betty Thompson; and one brother, Steven Thompson and his wife, Sarah, all of Charleston. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in the chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Old St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Cemetery, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
