Elizabeth T. Jones

Elizabeth Marie Truitt Jones, 98, of Charleston, SC died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 of natural causes. 

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Elizabeth "Granny" Jones are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Northbridge Baptist Church, 
1160 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, West Ashley. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park at 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston. 

Granny was the daughter of the late Eugene F Truitt & Nancy M Truitt. 

While never herself donning the uniform, Granny was in the "silent ranks" of the US Navy as the epitome of what every Navy wife endeavors to be. She was a living monument of grace, beauty, strength, resilience and devotion, thriving in the fluid and often chaotic environment of military life as she raised her patriotic family. While physically able, she was an active member of the Garden Club, Bridge Club, & Northbridge Baptist Church. 

Granny is survived by her grandchildren, Thomas R. Jones V of Fort Mill, SC; Timothy S. Jones of Gastonia, NC; Jeffrey C. Taylor of Charleston, SC; Elizabeth G. Taylor of Charleston, SC along with multiple great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Commander Thomas Richard Jones III, United States Navy; her son, retired Chief Petty Officer Thomas Richard Jones IV, United States Navy; and her daughter, retired special education teacher Elizabeth Jones Taylor Murphy.
