Ellen Rose Haselden

Ellen Rose Haselden, 71 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Born on September 21, 1950, in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Pate Futrell (Rowland) and Andrew Futrell, Sr.

Rose began her professional career as the secretary at Aurantia Baptist Church in Mims, FL for 4 years. Afterwards, she became the dental assistant to Dr. Joseph L. Johnson in Charleston, SC for 4 years. Rose distinguished herself as the administrative assistant at the Medical University of South Carolina for 38 years to Dr. Fred A. Crawford, lead surgeon in Thoracic Surgery.

Ellen is survived by her husband, H. W. (Will) Haselden, Jr., her son, H.W. (Bert) Haselden (Monique) of Huntsville, AL and her daughter Danielle Haselden Mroczkowski (Victor) of Snohomish, WA. Rose and Will are blessed with six grandchildren. Rose is also survived by her three brothers Andrew C. Futrell (Cecile), Stewart W. Futrell and Timothy Lee Futrell (Kim) and her brothers’ children.

Rose was a member of the James Island Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years in many different positions. She dearly loved her ladies’ connection group. One of her greatest hobbies was playing softball for the church. She was a dedicated supporter of the Low Country Pregnancy Center, and many other ministries.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the James Island Baptist Church at 2023 Wappoo Drive, Charleston, SC.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the James Island Baptist Church at 2023 Wappoo Drive, Charleston, SC. The burial will immediately follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery at 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Island Baptist Church and the Low Country Pregnancy Center, both of Charleston, SC.
