Ernest Dewey Sharp, Sr.

Ernest Dewey Sharp, 87, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on February 3, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Born on October 11, 1934 in Charleston, SC, Ernest (Buddy) was a son of the late Henry George Sharp and Ella Mae (O'Brien) Sharp.

Buddy was an accomplished salesman working many years at Coburg Dairy and later, with Henry Lee Distributors. He was an avid sportsman. He excelled in golf, bowling, and baseball. He loved metal detecting and fishing. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Drill Sergeant, serving in Japan and S. Korea. He was undefeated as a golden glove boxer in the Marines. He was hardworking, a good provider, a loving father. Buddy was a devoted husband to his late wife Donna. His smile was contagious and he was loved by all who knew him.

Buddy personally trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior for his salvation. He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.

Buddy is survived by four daughters, Joni L. Riddle (Ronnie), Julie E. Kelly, Kathleen M. Hunt, Kelly S. Jowers (Johnny) and, a son, Ernest Dewey Sharp, Jr., eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one sister, Juanita McDonald, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on February 8, 2022, 10:00am, at Victory Baptist Church, 335 Woodland Shores Road, Charleston, SC 29412.

The funeral service will also be held at Victory Baptist Church, February 8, 2022, 11:00am.

The burial will follow the funeral service at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
