Ernest Lee Richards

Mr. Ernest Lee Richards, age 74, passed peacefully from this life into eternal rest on Sunday, December 24, 2023. 

Ernest was born in Bristol, VA on October 14, 1949, to Clyde and Anna Mae Richards. He was the youngest of four children. Ernest married Alice Loraine Allison of Bristol, TN on August 29, 1970, in Bristol, TN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Richards; his mother, Anna Mae Richards; his brother, Franklin Richards and his sister, Cleo Broyles.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Richards residing in Summerville, SC; his son, Guy Richards, residing in Huger, SC; his daughter, Kerri Williams and husband, Thomas Craig Williams residing in Summerville, SC; three grandchildren: Gabriel Aiden Williams, Seth Isaac Williams, and Elizabeth Grace Williams; and his sister.

Ernest Lee Richards served in the USAF for 23 years before retiring in August of 1993. He and his wife Alice choose Summerville, SC as their final place of residence. They have resided in the Lowcountry since November of 1986.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner, SC, with Pastor Jason Burgbacher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled Veterans in honor of Ernest L. Richards.
