Everett "Roy" Remington

Everett L. Remington of Wando, South Carolina, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on December 2, 1937, in Rhode Island, where he grew up before answering the call to serve in the United States Navy.

Everett was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. During his life, he continued his education, graduating from Pensacola Junior College, Southern Illinois University, and The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.

After his military service, Everett spent several years teaching before establishing his own accounting business, where he worked until his retirement.

Music was one of Everett’s greatest loves throughout his life. He was an active and dedicated member of the Charleston community and played with the Charleston Community Band for many years. His love of music brought him great joy and connected him with countless friends and members of the community.

Everett was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years; four children; three stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered fondly by his many friends, colleagues, and members of the Cooper River Post community.

Everett will be remembered for his love of music, his dedication to his family and friends, his years of service, and the many lives he touched throughout his 89 years.

A service celebrating Everett’s life will be held on August 29, 2026, at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

May his memory live on through the music he loved, the family he cherished, and the many people who were fortunate enough to know him.
