Florentino Encenares "Jack" Jacinto

Florentino Encenares Jacinto, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed peacefully and went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

Born on October 16, 1938, in Bulacan, Philippines was a son of the late Felicidad Encenares Jacinto and Roman Jacinto.

Mr. Jacinto (Jack) was a Retired United States Navy veteran of 30 years honorably discharged and awarded several decorations and medals to include: the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy "E" Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mr. Jacinto continued service to the Department of Defense as a civil servant finance officer for approximately twenty one years. He enjoyed gardening and fishing during his leisure time; and his favorite place to vacation was Key West, Florida.

Jack is survived by his beloved spouse Flaviana Jacinto, sisters, Anacoreta Salazar and Carmelita Simbulan, daughter, Brenda Jacinto and husband Curtis Gadson, sons, Joe and Orlando Jacinto, daughter, Jennifer Jacinto, granddaughter, Nicolette Williams and husband Spencer Williams, granddaughter, Christina Jacinto Gadson, great granddaughter, Reagan Williams and numerous nieces and nephews in the Philippines.

The family will receive friends for viewing on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - West Ashley. The burial service will follow immediately after at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, South Carolina, 29414.
