Gerald Stephen Zatonski

Gerald Stephen Zatonski, 79 of Mt Pleasant, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Born on September 20, 1946 in Passaic, NJ. Gerald was a son of the late Stella (Miskiewicz) Zatonski and the late Zenon Zatonski.

Gerald was a Vietnam Veteran serving from 1967-1968. He worked as an avionic and mechanical technician for private and corporate aviation companies. He went on to work at the USPS before retiring.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Zenon and Stella (Miskiewicz) Zatonski and his brother Stephen Allen Zatonski.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teresa (Furst) Zatonski; his son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Candice Zatonski; his daughter and son-in-law Tricia and Brian Scanga; and his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Steven Bivaletz. He was the proud grandfather (Papa) of Tenley and Brynn Scanga, Cyana and Rayna Zatonski and Maverick and Ruby Bivaletz,

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 2:00-4:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – Mount Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 2:00pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
