Glo Novello

Gloria Ann “Glo” Novello, 84, beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Novello, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on February 16, 2026.

Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Shields.

Glo (Gogo) is survived by her husband, of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Novello; daughters: Linda Novello of Charleston, South Carolina, and Diane Clapes (Bill) of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren: Becky Sweet (Justin), Spencer Clapes (Ashley), Carley Pastor (Grady), Lucy Hydrick, and Cambridge Hydrick; great-granddaughter, Sadie. She is also survived by her siblings: Ellen DellaGrotte, Anthony Shields, and Bill Shields.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, her brother, Jackie, and her son, Eddy.

Glo was a devoted wife and an awesome mother who was always there for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Gogo was deeply loved by her family, and she loved having everyone together. Her entertaining skills were unsurpassed. She graciously hosted and cooked for so many over the years. Glo cherished her time traveling with Bob. They made countless very dear friends during their numerous voyages around the world. Glo’s motto was, “Life is Good!”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 23, 2026 at 2:00pm at St. Mary of the Annunciation, 95 Hasell Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29401.
