Herbert Wilhoite "Will" Haselden, Jr., age eighty-five, of James Island, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2026. Born on June 28, 1941 in Florence, SC, he was the child of Dorothy Daniel Haselden and Herbert Wilhoite Haselden and brother to the late Anne Haselden Gregg. He was an active member of James Island Baptist Church where he helped prepare meals on Wednesday evenings and attended the Men's Bible Study Class.
Will Haselden lived a vibrant life characterized by his outgoing personality who loved being around people and outside. After serving his country for four years in the Navy, he attended Newberry College and graduated with an accounting degree. He spent his career working as an accountant in the Charleston area. Beyond his professional life, he was known for his love of his family, including his animals, tending his yard and garden, and his enjoyment of reading his morning paper while drinking his morning coffee.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his son Herbert "Bert" Wilhoite Haselden III and his wife, Monique, of Huntsville, AL, and his daughter Danielle Haselden Mroczkowski and her husband, Victor, of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren Remy Haselden, Amerson Haselden, Aleks Mroczkowski, Max Mroczkowski, Mila Mroczkowski, and Bella Grace Mroczkowski, and his many loving nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and loving wife, Rose Haselden.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at James Island Baptist Church, located at 2023 Wappoo Drive, Charleston, SC 29412. A reception to follow at the Fellowship Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to James Island Baptist Church in memory of Will Haselden.
