Hongkai Lin

Hongkai Lin, 38, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Born on March 5, 1987, in China, Hongkai was the son of Jinxian Yang and Daoping Lin.

Kai was a loving husband, caring son, amazing mentor and faithful friend. He was one of the most extraordinary souls one rarely met in their life. His curiosity knew no bounds, learning was a continuous part of his life. He offered his tendest heart to those he was close to, he loved with compassion and forgiveness. Being with him was the best time of life to his beloved wife. The memories of Kai will never fade.

Hongkai is survived by his wife, Jessie Huang; parents, Daoping Lin and Jinxian Yang; brother, Hongfeng Lin; and sister, Xiaohong Lin.
