Listen to Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" McNamara, affectionately known as Jack, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Jack lived life on her own terms. She was outspoken, stubborn, and fiercely loyal. She had no filter, didn't waste time on nonsense, and never left anyone wondering where they stood. She could fuss at you one minute and be feeding you dinner the next. She loved to paint and draw, cheer on the Carolina Gamecocks, and she loved Barry Manilow.

Alongside her husband, Jimmy, Jack owned The Zoo, where customers became friends, and friends became family. Many of life's best holidays, celebrations, and memories were shared there, and the family they built lasted long after the doors closed.

Jack was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy; her parents, Betty and William Schmonsees; and her brother, Allen "Bubba" Morris.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly, and son-in-law, Mikee; her grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, Cooper, Clash, and Cody; her sister, Judy, and husband, Jimmy; her brother, Jody, and wife, Chantal; her sister-in-law, Dot; her former sister-in-law, Marsha; her beloved niece, Katherine; her nephew, William; and nieces Julia, Allison, and Dorothy.

If you knew Jack, chances are she became part of your story. She made people feel like family and left her mark on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.

Last call came a little too soon for the rest of us, but we find comfort knowing she's back with Jimmy and her beloved golden retrievers, Max, Bubba, and Gus.

Have a favorite memory of Jack? We'd love for you to share it in the online guestbook. Your words can bring comfort to the family and create a collection of memories they can cherish for years to come.
