James Edward “Skip” Mallory Jr., 73 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Born on October 4, 1951, in Dade City, FL, Skip was a son of the late Edna Earl Williams Mallory and James Edward Mallory, Sr.
Skip devoted his life to his family, and his profession. Being a Perfusionist on an Open Heart team, Skip traveled nationwide, ending his career at Lawnwood Hospital, in Fort Pierce, Florida. After retirement, Skip perfected the art of baking, which we will all miss!
Skip is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Mallory.
Skip is survived by his wife of 25 years, Teresa Cannon Mallory; his son, James Edward Mallory, III (Tivoli), his step-children Jeanne Love Parker(Brian), John E.R. Hayes(Mary), Millan Hayes Dostert(Steve), his sister, Bonita Brophy and his “brother”, Wayne Crawford(Dianne), his nine grandchildren and his pride and joy: Emma, Cannon, Jackson, Hayes, Mason, Laine, Rollins, James Harris, and Aidyn, brother-in-laws, Harold R. Cannon, Christopher L. Cannon, Thibault Cannon, and William C. Cannon, many nieces and nephews and their children.
A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roper Hospital, 5th floor, CVICU , 316 Calhoun St., Charleston SC, 29401, or the Medical University of South Carolina, 5th floor, CICU, 171 Ashley Ave., Charleston, SC 29425.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at both hospitals that provided such excellent care and comfort to the family. They are the angels among us.
