Jane Ann Santos

Jane Ann Santos, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Born on October 1, 1950, in New York City, NY, Jane was the daughter of the late William Valentine and the late Olive Locke Zito.

Our Jane was a Registered Nurse. Her life was always about her family and friends. Jane enjoyed world traveling with Bob, Bobby, family, and friends. Known for her love of cooking, especially family recipes, and holiday feasts were legendary. Jane and Bob’s home was always open to family, friends, and friends of friends.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Santos on April 14, 2024; parents, William Valentine and Olive Zito; and brother, William V. Zito, Jr.

Jane is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” Santos; nieces, Betsy and Lynda; nephew, Bill; her dearest friend/person, Elise Sweeney (Patrick); her extended family: Paul, Sean, Christina, Matty, and George; longtime caregiver/friend, Lynn; her close circle of friends; and her beloved companion/dog “Missy.”

A Wake will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. A Nurses Honor Guard presentation and Rosary service will take place during the Wake.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Hospice of South Carolina, c/o Lutheran Homes South Carolina Foundation Inc., 300 Ministry Dr., Irmo, SC 29063.
