Jimmie Lee Kitchings, 86, a 54 year resident of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Jimmie served 27 years in the United States Navy as a military corpsman, where he served in the Vietnam War and during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Alongside military service, Jimmie graduated from Pensacola Jr. College and Baptist College (Charleston Southern University). Upon retirement from the Navy, Jimmie worked for 20 years as an industrial hygienist for the Charleston Naval Hospital until 2004. Jimmie enjoyed playing golf, watching horse races, and being with his grandchildren.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Kitchings and Dula Lee Creech; wife, Joanne Phillips.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Holly Londergan (Daniel Naone); son, Justin Kitchings (Donna); siblings, Wayne Kitchings (widowed), Elaine Smith (Donald), Woodrow Kitchings (Lynn), and Randy Kitchings (Pam); grandchildren, Nicholas Donat, Griffin Donat, Carrie Naone, Paxton Naone, and MacKenzie Kitchings.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – Goose Creek, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 113 Tabernacle Road, Springfield, SC 29146. Burial will follow in the church graveyard.
