Joan L Gibbs

Joan Gibbs, 91, of Charleston, SC passed away on January 21, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Ward (Randy); 2 granddaughters, Cheri Roucco (Andy) and Amy Ward; 2 great-granddaughters, Isabella and Adelle; Sister-in-law, Judy Ferunden; and 2 nephews, Louie (Stephanie) and Michael (Becky) Ferunden. 

Her brother, Louis Ferunden, pre-deceased her in 2001.

She was a long-time member of Nativity Church on James Island before moving to Mt. Pleasant and becoming a member of Christ our King Church. She worked in the nursery every Sunday morning for over 30 years where she loved each and every child.
Joan was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who always put her family ahead of her own needs. She was a prayerful woman, a loyal friend, and a hard worker.

The Rosary will be at The McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 at 5:15 pm, Sunday January 29, 2023 with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:30 am, Monday, January 30, 2023. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Huguenin Ave, Charleston, SC 29401
