Joanna Lee Wiggins

Joanna Lee (Patsiga) Wiggins, 69, went to her final resting place on Friday, May 19, 2023 in Goose Creek South Carolina.

Joanna was born in Key West, FL and grew up in Ledyard, CT where she graduated from Ledyard High School in 1973.

Joanna was the third oldest of eight children and took on a motherly role to her younger siblings. This translated to her being a caretaker to many over the years opening her door to all who needed help. She always believed people could change for the better.

Shortly after high school she met her soulmate and forever love, (Lloyd) Fred Wiggins. They enjoyed their life together as a proud United States Navy couple living in Hawaii, San Diego, CA and eventually in Goose Creek, SC where their strong bond would only deepen.

Joanna role as a wife was paramount in her life. She was a compassionate sister, daughter, aunt and friend regardless of her own suffering.

To her last days she held a position at her church, Belle Isle Presbyterian, as the holiday card lady. Never missing a birthday remembrance of any congregation member.

She enjoyed crocheting, diamond art, playing cards and watching the Atlanta Braves with her beloved husband. She was looking forward to the newest season of Yellowstone, which was possibly her favorite television show of all time. Her spirit will be greatly missed by all who met her and knew her.

Joanna is survived by her husband of 49 years, (Lloyd) Fred Wiggins, sisters, Dianne Foncree, Suzanne Smith and Marianne Brumfield, brothers, Thomas Patsiga, William Patsiga and Michael Patsiga as well as numerous adoring nieces, nephews and great nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Patsiga, Jr.
