John Peter Aguilera Jr.

John Peter Aguilera, Jr., 83, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at his residence, 118 St. Marks Drive, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

Born on October 19, 1942, in Gloversville, New York, John was the son of the late Betty Freeman Aguilera and the late John Aguilera.

John served in the US Navy for 26 years as a Sonar Tech with the Rank of E-9 Master Chief. After his retiring from the Navy, he decided to be a Contractor for the Government in the field he retired in for 10 years working on the Navy Ships. He was a member of the VFW ,FRA, and the American Legion. John enjoyed reading his books, doing house repairs, watching the BBC channel. Most of all, he enjoyed family gatherings. He enjoyed telling his grands and great-grands his Navy adventures.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Betty Freeman Aguilera and John Peter Aguilera, Sr.

John is survived by his wife, Yvonne Aguilera; sons, John Peter Aguilera, III and Matthew Aguilera; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Aguilera; and his two granddaughters, Paige Guevara (Lawrence Guevara) and Taylor Aguilera; three great-grands: Braelynn, Bryson and Brooklyn Guevara; and a host of families and friends.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 2847 South Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to John's former residence.
