Josefina Sangalang Ramos

Josefina Sangalang Ramos, 70 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Born on August 29, 1954, in Quezon City, Philippines. Josie was the daughter of the late Rufina Infante Sangalang and the late Primitivo Sangalang.

Josie was created and destined for music ministry. She learned to play the organ and piano when she was only six years old. She devoted her entire life to serving God and His Church through music. She served as music director in all the churches she and her husband had served as ministry partners, spanning over four decades!

Josie was employed by Dillard’s Corporations as a salesperson for almost three decades. She was awarded numerous plaques and financial remuneration for her excellence in sales.

Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Primitivo Sangalang and Rufina Sangalang; sister, Norma Siron.

Josie is survived by her husband of 54 years, the Reverend Fernando Ronquillo Ramos; two daughters, Raquel Vicente (Chris) and Rebecca Aledia (Stan); five grandchildren: Camden Aledia (Megan), Malia Vicente, Kailah Riggins (Cole), Kendall Aledia, and Seanna Vicente; two great grandchildren: Maverick Bonnie and Blair Aledia. She is also survived by her siblings who live in the Philippines; three brothers: Marcos, Israel (Julie), and Bernabe Sangalang (Nora); two sisters: Pricila Guzman and Martha Sangalang.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 12:00-1:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

The service will follow the visitation on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
